Adenanthos sericeus
Grows 1.5 – 3m x 1.5 – 3m
Tall upright variety of Wooly Bush.
Very tactile foliage, that is soft and feathery to touch – adds a lovely bluey colour and wooly texture. Native to the Southwest, (Albany and Esperance) this native shrub with soft, blue, green foliage, has an upright growth habit that can be grown with little maintenance. Plant these as quick growing screen along a fenceline and can grow to if left unpruned, sometimes larger. You’ll get nectar feeding birds and other insects into your garden, attracted to the nectar of the flowers, which are small and inconspicuous.
Plant Albany Woolly Bush in free draining soil in the sun and use a native fertiliser (ie. free of phosphorous) They’ll thrive in your garden, since they’re from the Southwest area, and are quite drought tolerant once established.
Can be used in coastal gardens.
