Chinese Elm Ulmus parvifolia
The Chinese Elm tree grows into a medium sized, beautiful round classic tree shape. A gorgeous shade tree with lots of character – Developing a spotted trunk as it matures, it’s branches are slightly pendulous. Grows up to 10m and is semi deciduous in warmer climates, losing all their leaves in cooler areas. Love the lateral branching on these trees.
Tolerant of many soil types, although it does prefer free draining soil. They can tolerate windy sites.
Chinese Elms are the first to put foliage on in the nursery , usually in July. They are semi-deciduous trees.
