Dizygotheca elegantissima
now known as Plerandra elegantissima AKA False Aralia and formerly known as Schefflera elegantissima
Geez talk about identity crisis – we like to call em Dizzys
But don’t let all this naming talk persuade you from aquiring one of these super handsome foliage plants. Just check out the foliage – dark brown, ash greyish, with reddish tones. You can do a lot with this tree – pare it against other green plants and it looks really good. We have this growing in a pot, with a trailing plant coming out the bottom for contrast. Keep inside the house of outdoors in a pot.
Planted in the garden, it grows 2-3m. It’s from the New Caledonia – the tropics – so our colder weather will keep it shorter and more compact.
