Hibiscus Cottonwood (tiliaceus rubra) is a fast growing shrub with dense foliage native to Queensland and can grow to approx 4-6m quite quickly. Great if you’re looking for a fast growing screening plant.  Grows quite well in Perth and the Southwest and can tolerate coastal and windy conditions. Gorgeous, red and green heart shaped leaves make this shrub very ornamental with attractive yellow flowers year round.

This plant is loved by Landscapers and you’ll see if being used around new housing developments as it provides a relatively fast growing, attractive large shrub or small tree that tolerates a wide range of environmental conditions. Works really well on the coast and inland.

Use this to screen your neighbours or hide a fence. Makes a nice small tree providing shade in smaller gardens.
