Description

David’s Maple or Snakebark Maple Acer davidii

A beautiful, deciduous small to medium sized tree with attractive 3 lobed bright green foliage emerging spring time, with beautiful Autumn colours. Tree canopy shape is round. Grows 6-10m

The bark is highly ornamental – stripey, striated snake like marks on the trunk that start out red, but matures to green and white.

Grow in full sun in a well drained soil.

Interesting tidbit – who was ‘David’?? > he was a french missionary in China – Father Armand David in the late 1800s.
