This tree is valued for its upright, symmetrical shape. Beautiful maple shaped leaves. It’s an improved version of Box Elder Maple.
It’s a medium sized tree 8-10m that will develop a round habit. Foliage starts out green with burgundy , changes to green then colours up beautifully to reds/oranges/yellows in Autumn before losing its leaves.
Acer negundo is one tough tree. It will tolerate both wet and drought conditions. It does prefer free draining, improved soil that holds some water and nutrient.
