Chinese Pistachio

Chinese Pistachio  – Pistacia chinensis ornamental

A small to medium sized deciduous tree that can tolerate dry, sandy soils. Displays beautiful Autumn colours from orange to red. Colours up nicely, even in warmer climates, before they lose their leaves well in to winter. Although it bears the name ‘pistachio’, it is an ornamental tree.

Chinese Pistachio trees are moderate growers  can grow up to 6-8m and has a classic round shape to it . Makes a lovely shade tree for the urban garden. Even though it tolerates dry, sandy soils, they look really good and grow well in improved soils.
