Delonix regia – Flame Tree

Flamboyant tree with showy, intense red flowers in summer on a backdrop of fern like foliage. Originating from Madagascar, they can grow up to 10m, but usually only get to around 3-5 down this way and they have a spreading growth habit, making them a really lovely shade tree to give great form and shape to the back or front yard. This tree is semi- deciduous, shedding leaves in the colder months.  Protect from frost when young.

Likes free draining soil, enriched with organic matter.
