Burdekin Plum Pleiogynium timorense
Grow something different!
Burdekin Plum is from the Rainforest from the Eastern States and the Pacific Islands
In its natural environment, in the tropics, it can grow up to 20m. But in our cooler weather down in South West WA, it will grow up to 8-10m. It is a handsome, evergreen tree.
Dark purple/black fruit can be eaten raw , or made into jams and some even make wine. Just pick and let it ripen after a few days. Fruit is ready to be picked after flowering in Autumn
You will get the fruit from one tree, however, if you grow in a cluster for better fruit production and this will also dwarf the trees.
Can be grown in a pot quite easily.
