Magnolia Galaxy
Late Winter and early Spring -when things are looking rather drab outside, you’ll be delighted to watch Magnolia Galaxy burst in to blossom. Lightly fragrant, large tulip shaped flowers – that start off a deep pink and open up to a paler colour.
Deciduous Magnolias like a sunny spot, relatively protected (so the flowers and buds don’t fly off in the strong winds) and won’t mind a part shaded position either. Plant out with compost and rockdust and add clay if your soil is sandy. Ensure it is well draining. They prefer a more acidic soil and the compost will help with this. They also grow well in pots .
It’s a smallish, upright growing tree – growing 6-8m.
