Citrus sinensis
Washington Navel is an easy peeling, seedless variety that ripens in winter, and has a long season. It’s one of our most popular selling oranges and is a quite a productive, long lasting tree.
Washington Navel is a small tree – grows 3-4m and responds really well to pruning. Plant out using a good soil mix of compost and rockdust. Add clay if your soil is sandy to hold water and nutrients. Use a slow release fertiliser when planting out and then fertilise with a good citrus fertiliser – Spring, Summer and Autumn. They’re heavy feeders.
