Rhapis Excelsa or Lady Palm

This dwarf fan palm is just the thing to green up your indoors and patio, or put one in your office.  Rhapis excelsa is a very elegant, deep green palm that does well in our cooler climate. Can grow 3-4m

Indoors, your Rhapis palm will prefer a well lit, spot, although will tolerate some darker areas in the house. They’re a bit slow growing, and look great in decorative pots.

In the garden, they’ll do well in areas that receive dappled light. We’ve grown these palms for many years and always place our Rhapis in shadier spots which keeps them happy. We have, however, seen fully grown, 4m high Rhapis  happily growing in full sun in a botanical garden in LA, which has a similar climate to ours.
