Avocado Tree Reed
Avocado Tree Reed is a large, fleshy, round shaped avocado – many describe these asĀ ‘like canon-balls’.Ā This variety stores quite well and keeps its shape nicely once cut, (great in a salad, with a flavour that is rich and buttery) The tree grows slender and upright, but you’ll need a little bit of room as it can grow to around 10metres. It is considered a smaller growing Avocado tree.
Reed is an A type Avocado that is ready to harvest Spring time peaking around November/December, just in time for barbeques and salads.Ā Fruit is green when ripe.Ā Fruit can remain on trees when mature for a little while. Reed can tolerate cold, but not frost.
B type Pollinizers are Fuerte, and Bacon Avocados
*Please note – these are infant trees – Look after them like your own babies. Ā Protect from wind, sun and cold for a few seasons – Leave them in a nice warm, wind free area – somewhere like your patio.
