Bird’s Nest Fern    Asplenium nidus
This fern is epiphytic, meaning it lives on another plant or tree and gets its nutrients from the air and leaf and foliage litter. You could place your own Bird’s Nest Fern in your garden in this manner or it will be just as happy planted in the soil in a pot or directly in the ground.
Bird’s Nest Ferns prefer an area in the garden that is mostly shady, receiving dappled light. Grow indoors or outdoors in a hanging basket. They can grow around 1 – 1.5m tall and even up to 3m wide
Happy in our hot summers and they also hold up well in our cool winters
